There has been a noticeable increase in the number of “visiting” cars in Roda and on Corfu this year. Of course, every year sees Italian cars on the Corfiot roads in addition to the usual Greek holiday makers and there may well be more Greek tourists since the new Egnatia Odos motorway was completed which spans the Greek Mainland from the port of Igoumenitsa to Alexandropoulos in the east. Travelling times from other parts of Greece have been significantly cut, making the drive to Corfu an

attractive option. Other European visitors have been much in evidence in their own cars, from France, Austria, Romania, Bulgaria and two Turkish campers were spotted last week just along the coast from Roda.
We are also being asked more frequently about driving down to Roda. With the information that is on Roda Online and with articles appearing in the previous issue of Roda Reports, then it made sense to highlight some of the compulsory [C] requirements &
recommended [R] for drivers when travelling across the EU.

These differ to some extent in each country and it must not be assumed that what is ok in your home country is accepted elsewhere. Below is a chart of what is compulsory to have or what is recommended for each EU country, DL indicates driving on the left. This is not a comprehensive chart by any means.
